This was within the first few days of bear 793 emerging after having lost 3 cubs last year(June 2022.) She most likely lost them to male depredation, where the adult male kills a sows cubs to drive the mother back into heat. It was a great surprise to see her back in the park with two new, very blonde, cubs. It encapsulates the promise of new life, maternal love, and the delicate balance of the natural world. Every encounter with these majestic creatures is a moment to be cherished.
