Nestled against the rugged backdrop of the Connemara Mountains, this is the Kylemoore Abbey. It was originally built in 1867 as a private castle for a couple on their honeymoon. It would later become a Benedictine monastery in the 1920's after nuns fled Belgium during WWI.
